STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® was established in 1992 by the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology (OEKO-TEX® Association) to test the effects of textiles and garments on human health.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® specifies the types of known harmful substances that may be present in textiles and clothing products, including pH, formaldehyde, extractable heavy-metals, digestible lead(Pb) and cadmium(Cd), pesticides, chlorinated phenols , PVC plasticisers, organic tin compounds, cleanable arylamines, dyestuffs classified as allergenic, chlorinated benzenes and toluenes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAH), color fastness, etc.

The products are divided into four categories according to the end use:  products for babies, products with direct contact to skin, products without direct contact to skin, and decoration materials. It stipulates the corresponding limits and test items for harmful substances.

If the textile has been tested and meets the conditions specified in the standard, the manufacturer can be authorised to print the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® label on the product.
